Hi Meir,

I wanted to thank you so much for the amazing private tour you provided me and my son. We can't thank you enough for the four days of heaven in Israel!!!! Your tremendous knowledge was only overshadowed by your passion for the land and its people. This is a trip my son and I will always remember with tremendous appreciation and gratitude.

When we return to Israel, we will definitely call you. Meanwhile, your name is already being spoken with the greatest admiration and respect.

Thank you again for giving us a gift that will live in our heart and soul forever.

Best,

Sherrie (California)

The Short Vort Good Morning!

Today is Friday the 27th of Sivan 5769 and June 19, 2009

Day Four- Thursday

Today I decided to walk the street of the Holy City and soak in and experience Jewish history first hand!

My oldest son, Meir, is a licensed Israeli Tour Guide (see his website- Israel by Meir); So I decided to use his services today and go on a tour of the old city. My son – (no nepotism involved) is a really great tour guide.

The Old City came alive as he showed me the original walls of the city and where they were breeched which is why we are going to fast in a few weeks on the 17th of Tammuz! Seeing the actual remnants of the walls from 2,000 years ago brought a chill down my spine. The destruction and battles became alive and very real before my eyes.

The tour was ‘hands-on’ and I brought into a chaider (school for little boys). I observed little boys with peyos swirling in the wind reciting by heart whole sections of the Tanach and the Mishna. In one class I was challenged to begin any Mishna in Shas and the boys in unison would pick up from where I started. I began to flip trough the Mishna and everything I began the Mishna, they were able to finish it. This was done all over the six orders of Mishna!

The sight of young Jewish children studying Torah just a few hundred yards from the Beis HaMikdash is inspiring and enchanting! We all need more achdus (unity) and less disunity!

Enjoy your Shabbos!
